Belle Meade Plantation

Once a world renowned Thoroughbred horse breeding farm,
Belle Meade Plantation today is a 30 acre historic site that features daily tours,
which are conducted by period costumed interpreters, of the 1853 Greek Revival Mansion.
You've heard of Seabiscuit, Secretariat, Smarty Jones and Giacomo! Come visit the
home where their bloodlines started. Once a world renowned Thoroughbred horse
breeding farm, Belle Meade Plantation today is a 30 care historic site and museum.
The jewel of the Plantation is the 1853 Greek Revival Mansion which is exquisitely
decorated in the Victorian Style of the late 1880's and completely furnished with
original family pieces or antiques from that time period. During the one-hour
tour costumed interpreters will guide you through the two-floors of the home
and tell stories of how the Harding and Jackson families lived and entertained.
After the tour, guests are encouraged to explore the grounds and discover eight
other historic outbuildings that include the 1890's Carriage House and Stables,
original 1790's Log Cabin, Dairy, Slave Cabin, Smokehouse and more. Lunch
Restaurant and Museum Store are also on property. Tours offered Daily.
Monday-Saturday 9AM-5PM; Sunday 11AM-5PM; last tour daily at 4:00 PM.
